The Loft

The Loft is a new "education otherwise" educational service that teaches young people how to create nail extensions and nail art. The project ensures young people develop skills in child care, drug and alcohol awareness, sexual health, parenting and self defence in a safe and stimulating environment.

Providing an alternative vocational curriculum, it is designed to enable young people, who struggle in mainstream schooling, to develop their self esteem, confidence and build a true sense of achievement, whilst at the same time obtaining valuable nationally recognised qualifications.

"I like coming to The Loft because I feel comfortable there. I can talk to the members of staff about anything and I get on well with everyone here. I also enjoy it here as I am doing my GCSE’s, studying maths and english and getting a AQA in nails." - Brooke Howell

"I love it here! The atmosphere is really good, there is always something to do and someone to talk to. I only attend the loft once a week on a Tuesday and Tuesday is always my favourite day of the week. I enjoy the Loft because you can relax and everyone is friendly. Anyone who gets to come here is lucky because its a great experience. As well as the loft being fun and exciting you can gain qualifications: AQA’s in manicure and extensions and half a GCSE in PSHE work.There are many facilities at the loft, from fake hands to do nail art on , to computers. There is so much stuff to do and the facilities are great. There is a wicked lounging area where he do all our “chats". The staff are amazing, If you have a problem you can go to Debbie.
